The students at Milwaukee School of Engineering live green, learn green and volunteer green.
From the solar panels on the roof of the Campus Center Building, to the Center for Sustainability, down to the energy-saving and environmentally friendly alternative to a conventional rooftop (known simply as "Green Roof"), it is no surprise that Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) students participated in National Green Volunteer Day this past April.
Proud of MSOE's inclusion in The Princeton Review's Guide to 286 Green Colleges, the Campus Volunteer Services (CVS) group is taking the lead in organizing the campus ' green' activities for National Green Volunteer Day. The only student run volunteering organization not affiliated with any local or national organization, CVS has committed to join Green Hands USA and other colleges across the country in performing community service for National Green Volunteer Day.
Club President Mustafa Mohammad is excited about working with Green Hands USA and sees this as a great opportunity “CVS is concerned with helping the environment; this is a way for CVS to volunteer and help Mother Nature.”
As a small organization, CVS is taking advantage of Green Hands USA's online resources (available at
www.GreenHandsUSA.com) to help coordinate and promote some of MSOE's green events, not just on National Green Volunteer Day but throughout the year.
