Vampire Weekend, MGMT, My Morning Jacket and a reunited Pavement are slated to headline one of the year's top music festivals, Sasquatch! Music Festival, which takes place at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Wash.
The three-day music extravaganza will rock fans on Memorial Day weekend May 29-3, and will also feature the National, the Hold Steady and Tegan & Sara. While it may seem like an indie rock fest, hip-hop fans will be glad to know that rap acts such as Kid Cudi and Wale will also join the line-up.
While the line-up is shaping up to be one of this year's best, organizers are also making sure the festival is the greenest ever. The 2010 Sasquatch! Music Festival is certified carbon neutral by
Carbon Harmony (a nationally recognized clean energy consulting firm).
The festival will be 100% wind powered. Additionally,
Carbon Harmony will offset 125% of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
produced during the festival at The Gorge Amphitheatre located in
George, Washington. By offsetting more GHG emissions than the festival
produces, the result is a net reduction in the amount of GHG in the
atmosphere which provides a positive effect on the climate.
