Staples Wants to Help You Recycle Your Old Printer

John Platt, March 09, 2010

Got an old printer that's ready to be replaced? Staples will give you $50 toward the purchase of a new one.

Staples already has a large recycling program at its stores. You can take most types of electronics and accessories (like printer cartridges) to any Staples store for free or low-fee recycling. Now, as an incentive to get you to recycle that old printer you have lying around, Staples will give you $50 toward the purchase of a new printer when you recycle your old printer with them.

The new printer needs to be from a pretty high price range -- $199 and up -- so you can't use your $50 off to buy a $50 printer, but still, it's a pretty good offer.

As for how it works, you can either take your old printer to a Staples store and buy a new one that day, or you can buy a new printer online and then take your old printer and your receipt to a Staples store. (Either way, I guess you're going to a Staples store.)

This deal is only good through April 3, 2010, so don't delay.
