Every time you move, the motion of your body produces a little bit of energy. Wouldn't it be great if something could capture that energy and use it to power your cell phone and other devices? Well that "something" has been invented and it's available.
It's called the
nPower PEG. This kinetic energy charger, made by Tremont Electric, is a fairly small device that you carry with you when you're walking around. The nPower captures the energy created by the motion of your body and translates it to electricity, which it stores and can then be used to charge your cell phone, MP3 player, digital camera, etc.
The nPower PEG is small enough to carry in a backpack or briefcase, or maybe a large pocket, so it goes where you go, which is kind of the point. (If you're in dire straits, you can also just shake the device and let that action charge its batteries.)
We've been hearing about kinetic energy and its potential for low-footprint electricity for a few years now. It's great to see it finally hitting the market.
The nPower PEG sells for $149.99. Check the link above for more information.
