Newest HP Products Use 50% Less Energy

John Platt, April 20, 2011

The latest computers, printers and servers from HP use half the energy the company's products used five years ago. This beats HP's goal to reduce its energy consumption by 40% by the end of this year.

According to HP, replacing all of the devices it sold in 2005 with the more energy-efficient models would result in an energy savings worth $10.4 billion and reduce CO2 emissions by a staggering 40 million metric tons.

HP recently launched what it has called its "Unlocking Your Energy" tour, which will take its message of energy-saving products to its customers around the world. The Unlocking Your Energy site contains numerous tips and tools for businesses to reduce their energy expenditures, along with videos and other information.
